Education
China currently holds the top spot in international standardized testing. The U.S is nineth. The Chinese also have the highet population in the world at 1.5 billion people. The United States is incapable of keeping up with China academically. What the United States has is a creativity. The U.S can create, where as the Chinese produce. The U.S is able to create thanks to art programs, music programs, and creative thinking. Yet with budget cuts on the way, there is talk that these programs that spark creativity will be lost. If the United States loses thsi creativity, China will ultimately become the absolute super power of the world.

Liu Xiaobo
Liu Xiaobo was the nobel peace prize winner of 2010. He was awarded the prestigious award for promoting democracy within China. He has studied at Oxford, made podcasts and wrote books promoting democracy. The Chinese government viewed this as a threat to the stability of China. Xiaobo was thrown in jail for his actions for speaking against democracy. He has been sentenced to over 10 years in jail. After the news of his victory of the nobel peace prize arose, only 10% of China was aware of his victory. Xiaobo's name was censored from google searches. Text messages with his name were stopped from entering the country. The news spread slowly through oral communication. The Chinese people who were aware of the victory were proud of their fellow country mans victory and irate with government. Change appears to be on the way in China. A voice is wanted.
Censorship
China and google are currently teamed up within China. The Chinese government requires google to censor specific topics. These topicsx include things such as voting, democracy, and open eletions. Google wants to stop the censorship of such items within China. The government feels that if censorshiop is lost, citizens will revolt against the covernment causing widespread chaos. China is currently a world superpower and only rising in industry, population and nation wide tests scores. Can the censorship within China be maintained within a nation that is beggining to call for a voice in their gorvernment?
